Reboot 8.0
Reboot was a blast. Meeting with people from last year, meeting new people. Talking to the Plazes guys, hanging out in wonderful Copenhagen with Marten and Anne and everyone else we had the luck to run into or meet with. Joyent folks, Opera folks. Copenhagen folks. Like last year, this has been the best couple days of I ever took off.
Like last year, I again find myself very interested into tangible computing. Unlike last year, now I know I have to experiment with this myself. Time is another matter, but it can be made or set aside. And it would definitely be cool to be able to demo something at next years Reboot – that’s a pretty good goal, actually.
Reboot, as a conference, isn’t quite about the latest tech hype, it doesn’t teach you how to build websites or any of that jazz. It’s about people, interactions with each other and their environmnent. And I quite like that. See you there next year.

Maybe you can expand the tangible computing article at Wikipedia so I (and others) will have a clue what it is you actually want to experiment with.

I’m not qualified for doing that, however, in my opinion, tangible computing is about interaction with a digital environment by means of physical objects – not the keyboard but by touching something like an RFID chip with your phone, for instance.

So let me get this straight: you are planning on building some hardware?
Sjoerd Visscher | 6 June 2006, 23:13 | link
No, just using it ;-)

Definitely a blast and great to meet you man. I stayed till Monday but am now back and settled in Rotterdam. I’m real glad to see the sun greeted me when I came back. Good to know your site, I’ll keep in touch. If you know anything going on in Holland be sure to let me know! Later.

Marston, good to have you back in Holland ;-) Most Dutch events will be covered here (at least those I’m attending) but I’ll try to shoot you a mail if I don’t forget!

Hey Mark,
It was great having that burger-like thing at “Chili” with you and Mr Veldthuis.
If you are ever near Copenhagen again, just call.
And remember the detachable bike-lights; they get stolen at once if you forget them.

Olle, we actually got pulled over after the party for jumping a light and not having (front) lights. Good thing we had lights on the back and we were tourists, saved us a 1000 Kroner!
